Well, this song came about after a sort of inspiration. While visiting the accordion forum, someone posted a lovely piece that was not very technically challenging, but totally beautiful. I thought to myself that I needed to follow this path for my next piece and so the challenge was to:
Find a “nice new to me” song
Learn it
Memorize it
Create a video
Upload it
… all within a few hours of ONE day. And so I found “Sabor a Mi”, wrote it out, took 2 hours to practice it… and then had to take 6 tries before I could get it on camera. I was hoping for one take, but tech issues, CF card issues and “me” issues brought that up to 6. I could have done a much better job if I went to 7… or 25 tries, but 6 it was.
And so, mistakes and all, I give you my rendition of “Sabor a Mi”… a lovely song. Music doesn’t always need to be a display of technical mastery to be beautiful, and that was my lesson of the day.
