So, yesterday I got a new battery for the 8X, I needed to use it to see how well it works after it’s first charge, and today I am just futzing with different song for like half an hour, then started to go through the UPGs, thats something that I had not done in a long time… was doing that for a good 20 or so minutes. I had my accordion on the desk and I must have bumped the video camera against the desk and it started to record… funny that I did not even hear that little beep that usually tells me it starts or stops recoding, but here I am recording all the stupid crap that I am doing, just making noise.
I hit this one register with a guitar sound and it sparked something in me, so I tested it, liked it, played some notes and remmbered an old, old song that I used to play as a kid, maybe like 45 or more years ago, but it just seemed like the right song for that sound, so I leaned back relaxed and let it play.
I can tell I was searching for the notes, but for something unrehearsed, unplayed and off the cuff… NOT BAD!
Yes I removed a lot of the crap both before and after, I don’t think that I want to listen to my noisemaking for near an hour, but when I looked at this, I was kind of surprised, I am so not a play by ear kinda guy… lol. You can see that this wasn’t planned… its too close, my face is not in it, heck the door to the bathroom is open behind me and you can tell I am struggling!
Yet inspite of all that… its kinda nice. I’ll have to record this song better in the future.
