{"id":775,"date":"2016-10-21T19:02:00","date_gmt":"2016-10-21T23:02:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/syner-g.no-ip.biz\/mymusic\/?p=775"},"modified":"2023-11-04T19:13:02","modified_gmt":"2023-11-04T23:13:02","slug":"custom-mics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/syner-g.no-ip.biz\/mymusic\/custom-mics\/","title":{"rendered":"Custom Microphone System"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>October 21, 2016<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am such a dreamer sometimes!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">This time, I am officially jumping off the deep end even thinking about such a project.&nbsp; I am wondering if I could somehow, all by myself, make a sonically high quality microphone setup for my Hohner that comes close to being as good as the HATools system, of course for a lot less.&nbsp; They wanted to charge me 750EUR or just under $1100CAD.&nbsp; If I set a budget of let&#8217;s say under $200, is something like this even remotely possible?&nbsp; I&#8217;d like to think so!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">It started yesterday when I saw one small YouTube video about how to make an electret mic and power it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Hack of the Month Club -- Project #8: Electret Microphones\" width=\"880\" height=\"660\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/LycH4cXgx7Q?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">I then noticed that HATools used similar mics in their setup which is basically this setup repeated 10 times on the treble side.&nbsp; Here is this video:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Akkordeonmikrofon Akkordeonmikro Einbausatz - Teil 1 - HAtools Konzertmikro FUNKMIKRO accordionmicro\" width=\"880\" height=\"495\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jEUpWVESnWQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These two videos&nbsp;showe me a few things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">1.&nbsp;The&nbsp;6 things needed are a 9-volt battery, an electret mic, a capacitor, a resistor, an IC board&nbsp;that holds the&nbsp;hardware&nbsp;and an amplification board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">2. How to wire this all up (kind of\u2026 I still have a few questions which I will ask later).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">3.&nbsp; That the parts are available for reasonable costs from Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">So here are my thoughts.&nbsp; Sometime in the future I am going to order enough electret mics to make my &#8220;super system&#8221;.&nbsp; That means that I might want to &#8220;one-up&#8221; the best I see online (HATools has a 10+8 system), so I am thinking how about a 20+10 or a 30+20 setup, meaning a 20-30 mics for the treble side and 10-20 mics for the bass side!&nbsp; Just going nuts because if 10 is good, 30 has got to be great\u2026 lol<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This page and this project are a work in process.&nbsp; More to come in the future!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Addendum: June 27, 2017<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Well, here is a small tidbit of info that came from JimD, contributor and all-round super knowledgeable guy from the accordion forum and the guy that that I bought some bass-buttons and the bass vibration mod stuff from:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\"><em>JIM D. wrote:  Now if your accordion output jack is wired to accept phantom power you can eliminate the battery and plug into a mixer or amp with phantom power<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What a great idea!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well, I am officially jumping off the deep end even thinking about such a project.
