{"id":1550,"date":"2019-12-31T09:47:00","date_gmt":"2019-12-31T14:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/syner-g.no-ip.biz\/mymusic\/?p=1550"},"modified":"2023-11-08T09:58:17","modified_gmt":"2023-11-08T14:58:17","slug":"last-bang-this-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/syner-g.no-ip.biz\/mymusic\/last-bang-this-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Last Bang This Year!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">December 31, 2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Well, here it is about 3 hours and 15 minutes away from the start of a new year and I wanted to end this year with a little something positive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">I woke up this morning a little disgusted with myself in terms of how I did this year on the accordion.&nbsp; Yes I know, there were a million excuses\u2026 crazy 14-18 hours-per-day work schedules, a battle with cancer (that I won!), dental surgery, an extremely difficult and sad ending to a relationship that ripped my heart out of my chest, and many more excuses that I could discuss on and on.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The issue is that this is exactly what it all is\u2026 excuses!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">I am done with excuses.&nbsp; The battle with cancer was hard fought, but I won, the work conditions are promised to change before the end of January 2020, dental surgery is going to continue until complete.&nbsp; My heart\u2026 well, I don\u2019t know about my heart, I have to put away somewhere so that I don\u2019t have to listen to it for the time being.&nbsp; Painful?&nbsp; Yes.&nbsp; Annoying? Most definitely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I will cope and survive\u2026 I always have in the past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">What I am motivated to do is to not put away the accordion like I had to do the last several months.&nbsp; Not like I had much choice, but had I been better motivated, who knows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">I am now motivated.&nbsp; To start, I had to make a statement, set a benchmark to gauge myself by and a level to start from and exceed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So I made a video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Yeah, it SUCKS.&nbsp; I captured it on 2 cameras and the TouchMix mixer in ONE take, no practice, no warm up and no removing any of the errors.&nbsp; It\u2019s all there in it\u2019s vulgar mediocrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">This video is going to be the bar that I must beat, and to do that I have to practice.&nbsp; To better myself, I have to put in the time, make more videos and start to not only get better, but SHOW that I am getting better, and it all starts here on the very last day of 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here is that video:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Jambalaya - Don&#039;t Be Cruel\" width=\"880\" height=\"495\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VN8Qf5DoPyc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">I left the comments open on YouTube, invited all to dish out their criticisms, laugh or whatever\u2026 I just laid it on the line.&nbsp; Come and get me, go ahead, do your worst, I can take it, indeed, I am asking for it! (haha!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">My FR-8X is in perfect working order, the Hohner VI N is in tune, both&nbsp; sound lovely and I am already planning the next video, perhaps a tango, (maybe a Czech tango?), which I always love, and from there\u2026 who knows, the musical world is my oyster!&nbsp; It\u2019s me and my accordions and the pleasure they give me as I am enjoying all that funny noise I make with these strange boxes strapped to my shoulders!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Life was good once, for a short while\u2026 it can be good again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oh\u2026 HAPPY NEW YEAR!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The story of how I am starting a new chapter with the goal of bettering my accordion skills.
